St Agnes PU College organized ‘Samarasya’, an interfaith programme

Interfaith harmony embodies the notion of ‘live and let live’. On this note St Agnes PU College organized ‘Samarasya’, an interfaith programme on 7 November, 2022 at the College Auditorium. The programmebegan by invoking God’s Blessings through a meaningful Sanskrit prayer song.

Dr. Vasanth Kumar Shetty, Administrator, Saanidhya Residential School and Training Centre for the mentally challenged, highlighted that there should be friendly coexistence among different religions and we should uphold peace and justice through good will. Mr Joseph Crasta, Managing Trustee of Snehalaya Charitable Trust expressed that acceptance and synergy among individuals can spread love.

The prestigious Padma Shri awardee ‘Akshara Santha’ Harekala Hajabba, said that though he is a Muslim, people of different faiths helped him in various capacities. He opined that religion should never be a barrier in serving people. He was felicitated for his selfless service to humanity.

A video on the selfless services of Dr. Vasanth Kumar Shetty, Mr. Joseph Crasta and HarekalaHajabba was presented. Students performed a touching dance depicting the true essence of humanity.

Mrs. Shailaja, Department of Kannada compered the programme. Mrs. Suvasini welcomed the gathering and Ms. Nisha Bangera rendered the vote of thanks. The programme ended with a rendition of the national anthem.

Sr. Norine Dsouza A.C, Principal, the conveners of the programme Mrs. Joanne Sheethal, Dr Tressie Menezes and Mrs. Jeshma Dsouza, Mrs. Shubhavani, the staff members and students were present for the programme.
