Agnathon 2k25
Agnathon 2k25, an annual interschool and intercollegiate fest was held in St Agnes PU
College on 30 August. The event had the unique theme of “Animergenz-Dare to
Begin…Destined to Win,” and was conducted with aplomb. Animergenz represents the
shining potential and brilliance of youngsters and embodies the spirit of excellence and
the promise of a sparkling future.
The fest was inaugurated by the distinguished chief guests Mrs Munita Veigas Rao,
acclaimed playback singer, song writer, vocal trainer and music producer, and VJ Dixon,
versatile celebrity, national and international host, TV anchor, fashion model, and
influencer. They were escorted to the venue with a ceremonial guard of honour. Their
presence added glamour to the opening ceremony, inspiring students with their success
stories and encouraging them to pursue their dreams with determination and dedication.
The scintillating event featured a variety of competitions which kept both participants
and the audience glued to their seats. A solemn prayer song and an alluring welcome
dance added a sprinkle of glitz to the programme, followed by placing of lanterns in the
Sakura Tree by the dignitaries. Mrs Munita, proud alumna of the college, spoke about
how the occasion evoked a nostalgic glimpse into her campus life as a student. Looking
at the bright and shining faces of the youth, she remarked on how promising the future
appears. Drawing inspiration from the world of Anime, she highlighted the idea that
although we may begin with uncertainty, life is a multi-splendored canvas waiting to be
filled with the colors of determination, hard work, and perseverance. She emphasized that
teamwork has the power to catapult us into the realm of success. VJ Dixon also addressed
the gathering, stressing that success remains incomplete without daring and passion. He
further emphasized the importance of nurturing grassroots talent and urged youngsters to
harness their intelligence and ingenuity to stride confidently toward success.
Riah Mendonca and Chris D’Souza, compered the inaugural session. Mrs Venitia, HOD
of Chemistry extended a convivial welcome to the gathering and introduced the chief
guests, while Neena Madhta proposed the vote of thanks.
The valedictory session was presided over by Mr Waseem Raj, Founder of Mangalore
Meri Jaan and Mr Raghav, Partner, Entrepreneur, and Business Solutions Manager. In his
closing speech, Mr Raj praised the participants and organizers stressing the importance of
such fests in providing platforms for students to give wings to their dreams. Mr Raj
expounded on the need to balance work and recreation. Inspiration, he said varies from
individual to individual. Learning to identify your strengths, setting goals, experimenting
and exploring, he said are the cornerstones of future triumph. He counselled the youth to
use AI wisely as a tool, and not make it their master.
Divisha was the emcee for the event, P P Dieya welcomed the enthusiastic audience and
introduced the guests, while Yashaswini rendered the vote of thanks.
The fest was brimming with several exciting competitions and activities designed to
challenge and showcase the talents of the students. The events were well aligned with the
theme of Animergenz, capturing the daring and bold spirit of the youth.
The occasion was graced by Dr Sr Maria Roopa AC, Joint Secretary of St Agnes Group
of institutions, Principal Sr Norine DSouza, Vice Principal Sr Janet Sequeira, convenors
Mrs Chaitanya Nayak and Mrs Joanne Sheetal, PTA Vice President Mrs Shabnam, Joint
Secretary Mrs Lavina Sequeira, PTA members, Student President Ms Mansi Rajpurohit
and Vice President Ms Sweedol Sequiera, Cultural Secretary Sonaly Ferrao, faculty,
students, the sisters of St Agnes Convent.
At the high school level Carmel School won the Runners-Up Trophy, while Mount
Carmel Central School secured the prestigious Overall Championship. At the Pre
University level St Aloysius PU College garnered the Runners-Up Trophy, and Canara
PU College clinched the impressive Overall Championship
Agnathon 2k25 stood as a poignant reminder that winning is a fulfilling reward for weeks
of dedication, hard work, and overcoming challenges.
