Master Chef – Cooking Without Fire Competition
St Agnes PU College organized the Master Chef – Cooking Without Fire Competition on Thursday, 20th August 2026. The objective was to encourage healthy cooking habits, creativity and teamwork among students.
Each team comprising three participants prepared a savoury item, a dessert and a beverage without using fire, focusing on the theme Balanced Bites. The theme highlighted the importance of combining proteins, fibre-rich foods and fresh herbs for a wholesome diet.
The participants showcased great enthusiasm and innovation, using sprouts, millets, nuts, vegetables, fruits and herbs in unique combinations. All teams brought their own ingredients and necessary items, and maintained hygiene by using gloves and tablecloths during preparation and serving.
The competition for I PU was judged by Mrs. Leikitha, Department of Home Science and Ms. Raina, Department of Chemistry, while II PU was judged by Mrs. Joanne Sheetal and Mrs. Teena, Department of English and Commerce respectively. The judges appreciated the students for their creativity, balanced use of ingredients and presentation.
The entries were assessed on taste, presentation, innovation, relevance to the theme and cleanliness. The event was a delightful and enriching experience for all. First, second and third prizes were awarded in both I PU and II PU categories.
