‘Master Chef – Cooking Without Fire Competition’

MASTERCHEF – COOKING WITHOUT FIRE COMPETITION
“The Chill Trifecta: Ragi, Coconut & Cucumber Unleashed” St Agnes PU College hosted an engaging culinary event, the ‘Master Chef – Cooking Without Fire Competition’, on Tuesday, 29th July 2025. The competition aimed to bring out students’ creativity and collaborative spirit through the art of fireless cooking. Each team, made up of two participants, was tasked with preparing a savoury dish, a dessert, and a beverage—all without using heat or flame. This year’s theme, “The Chill Trifecta: Ragi, Coconut & Cucumber Unleashed,” encouraged participants to creatively incorporate these three ingredients into all their dishes. Students experimented with a variety of textures and combinations, using the ingredients in forms like flour, juice, grated flesh, and more. Participants came well-prepared with their own ingredients, tools, and serving materials. Strict hygiene practices were maintained, with gloves and tablecloths being compulsory throughout the preparation and presentation process.

The event was judged by Mrs Teena Dsouza, Department of Commerce and Ms Raina Dsouza, Department of Chemistry for the I PU category, Mrs Joanne Sheethal, Department of English and Mrs Arshiya Patel, Department of English for II PU category, who commended the students for their originality and attention to detail. The competition turned out to be a fun and flavourful experience, reflecting the enthusiasm and talent of the young chefs. The dishes were evaluated based on presentation, taste, innovation, effective use of the given ingredients, and cleanliness. The competition recognized outstanding efforts by awarding first and second prizes in both the I PU and II PU categories.
