Melange - Ethnic Day

‘MELANGE,’ the Ethnic Day celebration at St Agnes PU College on 16 December was a vibrant and culturally enriching event, hosted by the talented emcees, Vinishia D'Souza and RuthAroza. Students looked forward to a day filled with fun and festivities. The event opened with a soulful prayer song, creating a serene atmosphere.

KadeejaNoha delivered a warm welcome speech, leading into the captivating inaugural by the student cabinet members. The audience was treated to a mesmerizing solo Kathakperformance by AshnaSharvari, setting the tone for the artistic wellspring of talents which included a veena recital which was a perfect blend of cadence and melodyby the supremely talented Shriraksha.

In her address, the Principal SrNorine D’Souza acknowledged the importance of cultural diversity and the role it plays in keeping us united. The cabinet and council members then took the stage for an energetic dance performance, adding flamboyance to the celebration.

This was followed by the much-anticipated ramp walk which showcased a blend of traditional and contemporary attire. Spot games, hosted by Zuha Mariamadded an element of excitement, and kept the audience engaged. Thestage wastransformed into a battleground for a thrilling dance battle, with students displaying their finesse in dance, pitted against each other class wise.

The cultural extravaganza continued with theGroup Dances, which presented a kaleidoscope of regional traditions. The spellbinding dances left the audience in awe, and showcased the rich cultural heritage of India and the threads of tradition woven into its tapestry.

Susan Neeliyara delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the event a success. The celebration concluded with a mass dance, uniting students in a joyous culmination of diverse cultures.
