Kannada Debate Competition “VAKCHATURYA”
The Kannada Debate Competition titled “VAKCHATURYA” was successfully held on 14th July
2025 at the Conference Hall of St. Agnes PU College. The event was thoughtfully organized
under the guidance of Mrs. Shailaja from the Department of Kannada, with support from the
organizing team, including Roopashree, the Arts Secretary.
The programme began with a warm welcome delivered by Prateeksha of II HEPP, followed by
an explanation of the rules and regulations by Roopashree of ll HEPP , which helped set a
clear and organized structure for the event.
The aim of the competition was to provide students with a platform to express their opinions
confidently in Kannada while developing their communication, analytical, and public speaking
skills. The competition commenced at 3:30 PM, with each participant allotted two minutes to
present their views.
A total of 26 students took part—18 from II PUC and 8 from I PUC—each contributing unique
ideas and thoughtful interpretations to the topics given.
The debate topics were:
I PUC: ಆಧುನಿಕ ಯಂತ್ರ ಯುಗಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಹಳೆಯ ಕಾಲವೇ ಇಷ್ಟೋ ಲೇಸು
II PUC: ಪದವಿಯೊಂದೇ ಯಶಸ್ವಿ ಬದುಕಿನ ಸಾಧನೆ
Participants supported their arguments with real-life examples, impactful quotes, personal
anecdotes, and logical reasoning. Their presentations reflected fluency, confidence, and deep
understanding.
The competition was judged by Mrs. Shubhavani and Mrs. Anitha, who were acknowledged for
their fair judgment, thoughtful feedback, and encouraging presence that added great value to
the event.

The event Vakchaturya was described not just as a debate, but as a vibrant celebration of
Kannada language, logic, and leadership. It offered students a chance to think critically, speak
boldly, and embrace their cultural roots with pride.
All the volunteers expressed great pride in having contributed to such a meaningful and
successful event. Special thanks were extended to Mrs. Shailaja for her continuous support
and guidance, and to the respected judges for making the competition truly memorable.
